In love's garden, ego does bloom,
A vigorous plant, needing much room,
Its shadow may hide affection's light,
And turn a warm embrace to a cold slight.
Ego in love, strong and grand,
Sometimes selfish, or pride's firm stand,
Can obscure what is true and real,
And build barriers on the heartfelt wheel.
Lovers fighting to be right,
Forget that love's no competitive fight,
What matters is to understand and share,
Not to impose one's will, or stubbornly glare.
Let not ego be your heart's guide,
But respect, empathy, and passion beside,
Then you'll find love's true core,
A journey without ego, full of much more.
With love,
F.
